Moab, Utah is in the South East section of the state. It is is situated in an incredibly diverse geographic region. It's between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park and right next to the Colorado River. It's also in the shadows of the snow capped LaSal Mountains that rise up to over 12,000 feet.
It's about a 4 hour drive from Salt Lake City, Utah (the closest large airport) to Moab. There is a daily shuttle from the Salt Lake City airport down to Moab if you don't rent a car. You can catch a bus or train to Green River, Utah which is about 1 hour from Moab (see upper left corner of bottom map).
